Just wondering if anyone has a clue what notes are being played, and what the approximate rhythm is for this liver version of Son of Shaft. It is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!

You will need to know how to play the funk 16 note rhythm style first

7 and 9 chords etc...

Thanks Brian, I know the basic fingerings of the 7th and 9ths http://www.angelfire.com/music5/hectim/tabs.txt, just wondering what the actual notes were, and is it just one string being played etc. Not familiar with wah playing, sounds to me that is just the one string being played and the sound is then manipulated from that. Will give it a go

Playing funk music is hard to explain in words as it's very much improvised!

hes using those few notes plus hes muting the string/strings while using wah wah to get that chucka chucka sound...just mute string/strings by barley touching them with chord hand and get the right hand to get that cool funky rythm going while maniputating the sound with the wah wah pedal.
