Can anyone give me tips on how to increase speed? Maybe like an excercise that will make my fingers faster. I've tried, and I'm not very good at playing fast.

Check out Michael Angelo Batio's speed exercises on Speed Kills...
He has pretty good stuff there, however it's for more advanced players...

Economy picking and plenty of practice. Learn how to sweep pick also. Combine the two and you have some great tools to start shredding.

Use the picking techniques over your modes as a starting point.

i would check out you tube...type in what your looking for and usually there is someone out there trying to show people how to play fast.

example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAOr6SYGAyw

Just remeber though speed isnt everything...some players are really good at playing fast however as soon as they slow down it almost looks like they cant play very well...try not to be a one trick pony so to speek...also remember if everyone is learning to play fast like sweep picking then where is the originality gonna come from...its cool to play fast and it sounds cool however if it sounds just like everyone elses fast playing then whats the point of it really.

Still its cool to hear a fast solo sometimes...not all the time though...just sounds like a bunch of notes after a while when all there is is fast playing.

check out you tube.
