Hi,
I've been messing around with my GCB-95 crybaby trying to get it to sound
fatter and fuller and lose the treble harshness that seems to be part of
these pedals. It's a revision "G".
After playing around with it I now get some distortion when in the mid
range (when the pedal is on - no distortion when I turn it off). I'm not
sure how to get rid of it. The distortion is still there if I turn my
guitar volume right down low so the signal in isn't too hot. It only
happens in the mid to low frequencies and it's more distinct when I play 2
or more notes at once. It not there when I play high notes(above the 12 or
13th frets). It's also worse in certain parts of the sweep - but it is
there all the time.
I've done all of the mods on this site below which included changing the
sweep cap to 0.022uF, replacing the 1.5K resistor between the base of Q2
and the inductor to a 2.2K resistor, replacing the 33K resistor in parallel
with the inductor with a 47K.

I also converted it to true bypass and removed the input buffer circuit.
I've tried to sort the problem by playing around with the value of the
resistor at the emitter of Q1. Mine was originally a 390ohm. It's now a
330ohm res. This hasn't really seemed to help the problem.
So now I'm a bit stuck. Any suggestions?

what type of caps and resistors did you use?
