Well, it matters dude...

1) What style of music do you play, if you play like alot of
rock and grunge and **** you should probably get
a non tube amp with just a good clean, basicly no
soul in the amp, and then put some good pedals on it
like a tubescreamer or whatever there using now.

If your playing like blues or something with alot of soul,
get a good tube amp, I use a 410 super reverb
with stock tubes, it rocks, but marshal has this
valvetronix amp, and its ****ing sweet.

2) Price.... If your gonna get anything under 412 go with a
combo amp, alot of guys like to use a head and cab just
to look cool, but when your touring and you dont have
a crew to load **** for ya, the cool dies fast, if you dont have alot of money just a get a decent 112, 212 crate,
remember, at the end of the night there not gonna say
wether your amp rocked or not, its wether you rocked,
Ive seen videos of srv's gear dieing out and he grabed
a cheap 110 peavey amp and still totally rocked the joint.

I'm gonna say go fro Fender, Get a second hand RocPro 1000 or a stage 100. They go for peanuts. The RocPro is a hybrid (woohoo it's got a valve in) and the stage 100 is solid state, both great amps for the money
