I'm lookin into buying one of these two new. Besides the $50 difference
between the two what's the difference between them in regards to sound and
playing?

Ummm 
every guitar is different so yeah you need to play them and make up your
own mind. What we like is going to be different than what you like... make
sense

If you were to buy a car wouldn't you drive it first  Same with the
guitar. I can say there both good guitars but every guitar is different.
I've played 2 of the same model guitar before and both sounded and played
different.
