We havent had a new SLINGER in quite some time.

Here's a rather unique personality: FRANK ZAPPA.

I thought Frank was a decent player but MAN was his stuff strange. I had a hard time listening to some of his music but I did find much of it to be rather interesting. As a over all musician I have to give Frank 4.5 out of 5. I give him these high ratings not just for his playing, but for his entire music composition.

ANY THOUGHTS ON FRANK?

I love Franks music and guitar playing. He was a genius in my book. The guy had an interesting mind to say the least! 5.5

Zappa was cool. Sometimes he could get way out there but I always admired his way of thinking

4.5/5

Zappa was and still is great IMO. He was no fast soloist but I cant really think of any other who has the tone he did. Watermelon In Easterhay would be a great example. His music was like a paint brush in your mind for the story or feeling he wanted to express or share.
I laughed pretty hard watchen a Stevie Via interview when steve said he asked Frank , "So how am I doing?" Frank replies , "You are a good guitar player but you sound like a greasy ham sandwich."
Just the way Frank could put things into a whole new perspective wether musicaly or describing someones tone as a greasy ham sandwich was just priceless.

"You cant write a chord ugly enough to say what you want somtimes , so you have to rely on a giraffe filled with whip cream" FZ.

Yes a im a huge Zappa fan
