Hello,

Been playing guitar for 4 months now and I have to say I stink. There I said it. I'm terrible. I think I am causing my instructor to drink.

I am curious if software exist that would allow me to play my acoustic/electric guitar into my PC? What I would like to be able to do is record the rhythm part and then play the lead part.

In a perfect world this software would record both, include a metronome and show me just how badly I am out of tempo/tune.

Any suggestions?

First thing you need to do is find a way to connect guitar to the computer...once you have done that then you can try some multitrack recording software.

If you want info on a free trial of a program or a free program just PM me...private message.

Thanks Spidey. Now if I only knew how to PM I'd send you one.

I am assuming that I can connect my guitar via a USB port, but this is only an assumption.

line6 has a " plug " for your guittard so you can hook it onto your usb port
they have a wide range of Music equipment (mostly studio stuff)

there is also presonus who makes good products

There is verry few free alternatives but investing in a metronome might be a good start ...

as for pace: a teacher that tells you that u suck is a bad teacher a teacher that tells you to take your time is a good one ...
