has anyone every polished there fingerboard with olive oil? i just did and it shines better than ever with regular fingerboard polish. will this have any long term effects on my guitar?

Lemon oil is better and as not greasy.

lemon oil is what i used to use but i didnt have any left and i wanted to see what the olive oil would do. ill probably go back to lem oil but will the olive oil have any long term effects on my fretboard? :gunman: :fretboard:

I wouldn't think so. Actually I've never tried it just lemon oil.

Olive oil is good on everything else.

Chris, Never use olive or a veg oil ever.
you will have a mess on your hands! pun intended.
olive oil will turn rancid and completely gunk up the surface of your frett board.
Stick with a lemon oil or a boilded linseed oil.

Thats for the info man...I dont use any oil on my guiar...Im greasy enough...Ha Ha
