I'm a rookie and am replacing strings. Each string I take out of the new packaging looks rusty or corroded. I am assuming that if there is corrosion on a new string, it will break faster than a string without corrosion. Am I being too picky about the rust on the new strings? Should I just put them on and quit complaining?

If there rusty don't use them. Are you located in a humid climate? If so store them in a dry place.

Rusty strings for the loss, very annoying to play on. Anyway, go to wherever you bought them and maybe ask about them.
