I wasn't sure where to put this considering I couldn't post a new topic in the album review section. It has been more than 3 years since i have posted in this forum because i had been in New zealand to go to school but its good to be back (to the forum, not so much the US lol).

With that said, i started to listen to the new Avenged Sevenfold album. When i first heard that they were coming out with a new album after City of Evil i chuckled. I gave City of Evil a shot and it failed me. I am not saying that CoE was a bad album it was just sooo different from Waking the Fallen and especially Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. Different is not bad but i think if he had screamed correctly in the previous albums he would not have wrecked his voice.

The band denied all claims that M Shadows wrecked his voice but it is very obvious if you just listen to him. His obsession with Axl Rose is evident in his style and variation (in City of Evil more than the new self-titled album).

If you know anything about the band then you know that M Shadows and Synyster Gates have girlfriends who are sisters. In at least one of the songs, Dear God, they do some vocals in the end. This just goes to show you that women are the downfall of all men. Just kidding but you get my point. Those girls are the Yoko of A7X.

I don't think that they have anything else to write about. For example, the first album they were fresh on the scene, the second album was darker with the suicide of the bassist, and Cityt of Evil was the "bad-ass" album. The new one is just about them settling down and getting married.

I will not even get started with the music videos. Enough said.

This was just me going on a rant but i am hoping to get a little more input from y'all so that a further dissection of this CD can occur.
