Does anyone have any idea to do a transparent grey finish on a flamed maple
top. Please help!

I would use a grey stain then put a clear coat on top of that.

Thanks, but do u mean clear coat like a laquer or French Polish? |

I would use
Nitrocellulose laquer or Polyurethane
