Author: Subject: Strap Lock hole to big?

I just bought a used fender strat off Ebay and the strap button or strap lock hole is to big for the screw at the bottom of the guitar. Does anyone know how to fix this without a big deal.

Thanks in advance.

John

You could drill the hole out to about 1/4 and put a 1/4 dowl in it or the easy way I do it is put some glue in the hole first then break off some toothpicks until the hole is filled. Now when you screw your scrap lock screws back in it has something to hold on to.

Easy enough and it works......

Yep, another alternative if you dont have any toothpicks, is to tightly roll up some paper and glue it into the hole, it works for me

I did the toothpick thing on my Les Paul about 10 years ago and it is still holding.
