Hello....

I've got a vintage 335 that doesn't particularly like to hold tune. I seem to remember a friend of mine who had a gretsch falcon... using a different restringing technique. I can't quite remember what it was. I think it might have involved passing the string through the tuning peg twice? Does anyone know what this technique is?

thanks!

As long as you have 3-4 winding around each post and the nut slots are lubed with either graphite or a commercial solution like Big Bends Nut Sauce you should have no problems with tuning. Also make sure your stretch the strings and retuning until it stays in tune. Checking the intonation is also a must.
