Anybody who has played with this amp please reply.
I'm thinking of buying it.(next week maybe).
Most sites say its worth the money and is good for both
practice and gigs.
I'll be visiting roland's shop to try it out ofcourse but
any comment from you guys is always valuable.
Thanks!!
(I play mostly rock music, a bit of hard rockand blues)

These amps are great and have that Roland signature chorus.
I like this amp mainly for jazz music. I wouldn't recommend for anything else.

I've seen guys have a marshall and the roland cube a/b together though.

Thanks a lot Brian.
Would you recommend something else
considering the cost of this amp?

For me no one amp does the trick. I use a Marshall 800 head for Rock, and a Fender Twin for clean (Blues...). It's hard to find a amp that does it all.

Some of the new digital amps like Line 6 do alot except they sound cold as ice.

ok! i know what you mean with "cold"
But then i don't see any other way for me at the moment.
Thanks anyway

If you want a warm killer tone a tube amp is the way to go. In blues music a slight breakup in the tubes while playing clean is great.

I highly recommend 2 amps or try Hughes & Kettner there amps kick butt. They have a great distortion and a super clean tone all with tubes. They use custom Celestion speakers. My amp does anyway.

Check em' out sometime

I bought a Cube 30 a year ago for the school where I teach, and have been very impressed. I played it at an outdoor gig and it easily got over the unamplified drum kit. However, when it had to stand up beside a bigger guitar amp at a different gig(I don't remember what it was - but likely a 100 watt solid state), the 30 struggled a bit. It just didn't have quite enough kick to front. That's why I'm going to the 60 watt. I just test drove it today and I love the new Dyan Amp velocity picking feature.

I'm pretty sure the 60 watt amp will be fine for gigging.

These amps rule for the crystal clean tone. If you want some bite leave it at the music store.

Thanks guys!!
Kloop that was very useful. What do you say about Tatto's
opinion?
Brian these are very expensive amps. I know what you mean
but right now my choices are very limited.

GuitarMuscle - 9/30/2004 at 16:26

if you like the tone and it gets the job done,I say go for it.

I've only really heard the 30 watt live. It had decent crunch, but a little quiet. I've never compared it side by side to the real Marshall that it's modelling, but for the money, I think it's great. The 60 can only be better.

One caviat. There is NO pedal included, so you'd have to buy it seperately.
