OK so, i aquired a kustom III 1972 - 73-ish solid state half stack, and was wondering if anyone knew if this amp had any vintage type value. i know the tuck and roll tube kustoms are worth quite a bit now.

any comments at all would be great, thanks.

I would think it would have some vintage value but it depends on its condition. Does it have a master Volume control? I think they changed this model before discontinuing it. The ealry models didn't have a master volume and the on/off switch was located on the back I think?

i have the late model that has the master. which reminds me, the power switch has three positions, middle is off, up is on, and down is also on, at first i thought that one o them was a standby, but its not, and both selections sound exactly the same, so why have two on positions?

it has a few scrapes and blemishes and some cracking on the handles to the cab and head, and some surface rust on the corner protectors, but nothing too serious.

is there anywhere i can maybe get it oppraised online or something? i thought about putting it on ebay, but i dont want to do that until i know if it could be worth alot.

thank you so much for the reply!

Being it's solid state it brings the costs down compared to a vintage tube amp. The power switch is just a standard spdt toggle switch they often used in the 60's,early 70's. It may be a ground polarity switch and power switch in one. Not 100% sure!

ooooohhh, i didnt even think about it being a polarity switch. thats probably it. thanks for the reply.

you know, now that i think about it, i dont even know the original price of the amp.

so do you think that the price has gone DOWN from the original sale price? back then it probably only sold for a couple hundred. what price do you think i should accept for it?

any reply from anyone would be awsome.

thanks again.

Has anyone offered you anything for it? If it sounds good keep it I would!

i would keep it, but it doesnt really have the sound im looking for. i play mostly hardcore, metal, thrashy type stuff. if i can get some decent cash for it, i would like to buy a nice tube amp.

again, ANY replies would be awsome. thanks
