Does anyone still play through or own a bassman head "60 early 70's models"? I own a 68 with a AB165 circuit that I been modding here latley. A few mods can make this monster sound alot better. I got tired of hearing the thumpy sound and opened it up to sound more like a Original Tweed Bassman Combo. All it takes is removing some caps and changing some resistor values.

Anyone?

I need to get me a project amp. I'm seeing a few alte 60's Bassman 50's on Ebay. Thinking about getting one and seeing what I can do.

Just did another mod to driver section of the AB165 Bassman circuit. The amp now breaks up sooner about one 4 on the Volume and is brighter more like a great sounding guitar amp!

It involved taking out (2) .1 caps changing the feedback resistor to about 1 meg changing the 22k resisitor to 10K or 6.8K and tieing them together.

All these changing are in the Phase inverter section.
