5/19/2006 at 12:46Right so i have this 100 watt marshall combo with one output on the back
that sais minimum input 4Ω.
I also have two 60 watt speakers that say system impedance = 8Ω
So is it safe to run these two off the marshall without something
exploding? if so can i run the 12 inch speaker in the marshall as well as
the two 60 watts?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

5/19/2006 at 13:00You need to wire the (2) 8 ohm speakers in parallel making the load 4
ohms.... Or just wire them in series at 16 ohms ohms. Just make sure you
select the right ohmage on your Marshall.
How many watts is your marhsall? 50/100

2/15/2007 at 02:50So don't go below 4 Ohms, just like it says.
If you run into 8 Ohms, you are half as efficient[that can be good, you
will get more grind/drive from your tube amp]. with a 4 Ohm[head] into 16
Ohms , you are at 1/4 . so back in the day I used to pull the outer 2 power
tubes from my Marshall [cutting the power in half] and set the Head Ohms to
4 and run into a 16 Ohm cab [100 to 50 divided into 4 = about 13 watts].
the tone was killer. User resumes all responsibility, of course.
