Thread: Running through two overdrives

I prefer the way overdrive pedals sound as opposed to distortion pedals. Currently using a DOD 250 that's been modded by Analog Mike. But I still would like some more gain. Been thinking of actually playing through two overdrive pedals at the same time in order to get the level of gain I'd like. Of course, I don't have the drive on my pedal cranked yet, but it's getting kinda close.

Anybody ever heard of a guitarist that goes through two overdrives or two distortions?

Sure. I do it all the time. It's hard to find a combination of two overdrives that sounds best unless you have a lot to choose from. The other thing is you may need to make a bypass both pedals or bypass all pedal switch. It's hard to switch off two pedals at the same time. I made mine using 9 volt relays to bypass all my pedals if I need to. The bypass pedal I made has a built it buffer that I can turn off and on.
