The main (verse) riff to "Paradise City" was my first riff. I couldn't remember for the life of me what my first solo was.

By the way, this is my first post besides the one in the introduction thread. Hi everyone

-GILBY D

Enigmatic_minstrel - 4/10/2004 at 10:35

First riffs I learnt were cream's sunshine of your love and the bass riff from SRV's Crossfire. It was on a seriously out of tune strat copy which couldnt play notes above the 11th fret.
First solo was on a slightly better les paul copy, and I think it was ZZ Top's La Grange.

Ah those were the days

metalboxxx - 4/11/2004 at 13:40

My first riff was the main riff from The Cult's "Fire Women".

chrisC - 7/30/2004 at 20:05

my first riff was seven nation army by the white stripes

kickinits7 - 8/11/2004 at 07:40

Alice in chains - Angry chair... later realizing it was in flat tuning. Took me a while to get my ears to realize it.

ilove_SRV - 8/13/2004 at 16:23

the first thing i ever learned on my guitar was the whole rythym part to simple man by lynyrd skynyrd and just like everything else i know right now i tought myself it. it's actually pretty easy but since it was the first thing i ever learned i had trouble changing chords. it's just a C major, G major, and an A minor chords but picked apart. i love that song...

RedHotChiliPepper - 8/13/2004 at 21:23

First song I learnt was Time Of Your Life by Green Day. First solo was Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin
