I just bought a Gibson 335 and the serial numbers indicates it could be either a 1966 or 1969 how can I tell which year it is?

I think it's a 1969 but not sure?

Does it have a Volute on back of peghead?

Gibsons had the Volute from 1969 to 1981.
They also used Brazilian rosewood fretboards variety till 1966.

One more thing:

Gibson used a Pantograph logo from 1969 to 1984. The Gibson logo will have a closed b and o instead of the open b and o as used today.

So if it has a Volute on back of the peghead and has an open b and o in the Gibson logo on the headstock it's most likely a 1969.

It must be a 1969 because I see the open b an o in the logo and there's a volute on the back of the peghead.

I was hoping for a 1966 but the 69 will do
