I never really listened to Pantera. (Not much anyway) I'm very familiar with their music, I just wasnt into the band. I dont have much to say about Dimebag but I know he has many fans.
So this is in honor of Dimebags memory.

This is truly a MESSED UP WORLD!!!!

I wasn't a fan either...They were in a lot of the magazines in their day...Its a shame anyone has to die like that...Since they killed the shooter I wonder if anyone will know why...Time for an investigation.

I hate it that I have to write on such an occasion. I still can't believe it. I know the world stopped making sense a long time ago but this news really tore my heart. When honest to heart musicians start getting shot nothing whatsoever makes any sense.

I can't even begin to put into words what Dime meant to me when I was a rookie guitarist and likewise to this day. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who feel the same way. I can't just look at his legacy "genre-wise". I look at all musicians in the same way. Each of us has the keys to open doors that not a lot of people can open. The fact that everyone does it in their own way is a big part of that - it IS the key. Everyone opens this unique doorway and invites everybody else to join the party. What I'm trying to say is -- Dime's legacy is this party; this inspiration he presented to aspiring guitarists, this totally
mind-bending and unique sense of musicality. No-one will ever be able to replace this. I never saw anyone play the guitar with that attitude -- PLAY IT LIKE IT MEANS YOUR LIFE. That's what he leaves behind for me.

There. I feeblishlly tried...

People waving and owning guns is just the stupidest thing man has ever thought of in history. Everyone that owns a gun should f@#%ing melt it. They should make more guitar strings out of them.

Dimebag had his own thing and didn't really care what you thought. He was all heart...... Playing and in real life

I just didn't like their music. He was skilled, but not melodic and melody drives the music world. Or at least it did until the current wave of bad music really started hitting in the early 90s.

Skill without melody is merely noise.

It is too bad that he was killed though.

Hollow_imagination - 5/18/2006 at 13:21

Hey how come every one is a critic !?
He wasn't melodic ... ect.
I am young and i don't understand so much as you pros but i think that Dime was a great guitarist.
I liked him becouse he was something different you know he had that certain style like when you listen to Floods and Cemetery Gates, Hollow, Walk or Drag the Waters Classics.
Dimebag Darell is definitely a great musician and has this thing going that the guitar wasn't there somewhere in the scene the guitar was in his soul.
