Hi im new. Good site here.

I've been playing the guitar for 3 1/2 years now. 3 years just learning classical. Just started the electric. Had a hard time with picking because im so used to the fingers.

Anyway, im wondering if anyone has any good practices to get my speed up. I've been practicing chromatic, so far im only at 96-100 bpm on 16th notes. Slow, i know.

I've also been practicing scales a lot. Im new to electric, and all ive done over the past years is read sheet music. I have a problem with creating my own melodies. What is the best way of getting ideas. Any practices? I've read that ppl just practice lotsa licks and it becomes their style.
