Thread: Having trouble with Pull-offs.

I'm trying to get my pull-offs and hammer-ons to sound cleaner (I'm practicing on an acoustic) but as I remove my figure from the fret to move to the next string, I get an additional, unwanted(albeit, weak) pull off sound.

Any advice, tips or good practice drills to help with making string to string transitions smoother (i.e quieter)?

THANKS!

Are you muting the strings correctly! Your proberly hitting the other strings while your playing hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Hammer-ons and pull-offs rely on finger strength. I used to sit and watch TV with my electric unplugged and practice this. In other words you just need to get your fingers a little stronger and your muting skills need improving. Playing on an acoustic makes things a little tougher.

Let us know how your making out.
