5/23/2004 at 21:42ive had a strat for bout 5 months and am learning pretty quickly but i have
1 question can whammying too hard bend a standard tremolo on your strat???
its worrying me that im gonna bend it
my friend said
to get a floyd rose locking trem. help
5/23/2004 at 21:58It wont' bend your trem just stretch the springs over time.
If your into the whammy thing a floyd rose is the way to go.
The standard tremolo on a strat is more for a slight tremolo effect.
You can do dive bombs but you might encounter tuning problems.
I have no problems with my strat though

5/23/2004 at 23:00It has been known for the trem arm to bend a little, but other than that
you're fine.
A friend of mine had a Mex strat with a twisted base plate, but I think it
was like that from new and he just didn't notice.
Like Brian said, it you're heavy handed with the tren, you probably need a
Floyd Rose. But sayin that, Hendrix used a standard trem (thats' all they
had back then) and never had too many problems. A properly set up trem will
be as good as gold as long as you don't abuse it
5/24/2004 at 01:52thanx fo da info but im probly goin to go wit da floyd rose trem
5/25/2004 at 16:52while were kinda on da topic what are the pros/cons of da floyd rose
?
5/25/2004 at 21:54The pros is of course dive bombing special effects etc...
The down side is if you have a excellent ear you will never be happy
playing those Jazz chords. The Floyd always pulls a little flat and drives
me crazy.
I have a early 80's Hamer Californain with a floyd. I leave it in the case
for the blues/jazz stuff.
5/25/2004 at 22:26I hate setting the f***ing things up, horrible nasty hair metal
invention.
That's why I don't own any guitars with them on, it's bad enough having to
set other peoples up without having one myself
7/4/2004 at 06:00I just bought a Floyd rose yesterday... I like mine
