well i been practicing for long time but when i start playing guitar specially strumming i tend to hear noise with rythm not music with rythm as the song i was playing.. i do everything by the book the sitting postion, am pressing all the strings nothing muted - i pick every string b4 playing - am good strummer 1/16 beat .. my guitar is a chinese made cpx 900 btw strung with gauge 12 fender bronze ..
any suggestions?

Practice practice my friend. Work on your muting technique

Try some different songs.

picking noise ? or string noise (fret side )?

if its picking noise try diffret picks (harder or less hard)try playing with your fingers also

you can also make diffrent tones when positioning yourself in diffrent picking positions ...

also there are diffrent technics of practicing finger positions (fret side) in witch you leave your fingers there only moving the necessary finger to play the note

pratice playing clear & soundless notes then when you get it right move on to the next etc... then try chords (make them soundless aswell)
