Ok, i have the BC Rich Virgo. Now, at the neck position, i have a single coil rail pickup. I want to change this out to a Duncan rail single coil pickup. I look on the net and all i find are single coil rail pickups that advertise they belong in the bridge position. So, my question is: Can i put a pickup advertised as a bridge pickup into the neck position?
Also!
What is the difference between an active pickup and a normal pickup. I ask this because of the bridge pickup i want to change. I found 2 for the bridge. One advertises it is an active pickup and the other doesn't. The active one cost about $30 more, so i'm guessing it's better. But what is the difference?

You can use any pickup in any position if you want. An active pickup uses a battery and is hotter then a standard pickup.

Pickups are labeled for certain positions because there tuned for that position. EQ wise!
