Do you guys like Gibsons or Fenders better. That's a hard choice for me, but I'd have to say Gibson. My SG rocks, hardcore :rockout:

ummm. If you like a big boxy crunch sound well....Gibson. If you like the sparkle thin clean sound then.. Fender... it's really in the pickups.

PuckGuy - 2/4/2006 at 21:23

no doubt about it, fender all the way! just cant get enough of that fender sound!

Telefreak - 2/6/2006 at 22:49

Fender, always

/agree but bear in mind the difference in neck playability may be a factor, just try a bunch out to see what you like.

I started on a strat but once I moved to Gibson I wasn't a fan of strat necks anymore. Tele necks seemed to be a bit more user-friendly but I wanted that Gibson crunch.

I like em both and own both. There Different beast altogether

ricoboc - 6/11/2006 at 09:07

Yep, two different guitars by far. I personally dont like the craftmanship of the Fenders. Cosmetically speaking Gibson makes a far superior guitar, but the sound is the payoff and thats for each player to choose. I prefer Gibson. I always have.

luyuwei - 6/17/2006 at 19:40

I prefer Fender, I now use is a Chinese domestic production of wooden guitar, but I wanted to buy a Fender guitar later.

What he said. You need at least one of each.

Fender not squirell and Gibson not Epiphony

Just kidding get a single coil and a double coil, set neck and a bolt on.

That will cover most bases

knot2oldyet - 9/12/2006 at 16:07

I like a fat, full bodied sound with crunch not induced by an effects pedal and that spells Gibson. But I don't like muddy, which a lot of Gibsons are. All Gibsons are not created equal. A guitar player friend told me I was the only guy he knew that could make a Gibson sound like a Fender. That's because I like to pick close to the bridge. Gets a bright sound.

bobdaigle - 8/23/2007 at 15:47

I like then both

Spidercents - 8/23/2007 at 18:28

Ive owned a fender strat and ive played gibsons...the strat I had sounded good...a nice tinty thin sound that was great however the guitar I had kind of rusted...the tuning keys and screws all rusted...they were gold plated or something...I paid $1800 for it and it was a really nice guiatr however the way it rusted really turned me off of fenders...none of my other guitars rusted at all...i had other electric and acoustics and they never rusted...I kept the fender clean like my other guitars however the rusting of the metal hardware wouldnt stop...I ended up selling it because of the rust...only got back 1/3 of my money that I paid for it.

I like the sound of fenders however for some reason my fender was junk in regards to rusting hardware.

sunndance - 10/25/2007 at 04:58

fender just because i recently purchased a jazz master. never owned a gibson but they seem nice.

rileystaples13 - 12/26/2007 at 06:59

I think I love them both. They are both different but great.

For example:Gibsons have that great crunchy bluesy tone, and Fender has that twangy bluesy sound.

But fender doesn't have very many popular designs, mostly strats and teles. not many people actually us a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, or an esquire, which is basically a tele with one one pick-up. Gibson has the Les Paul, the SG, the Explorer or x-plorer, the firebird and all of those nice old hollow body blues guitars.

great_powerful_tom - 1/3/2008 at 13:09

Depends on what I'm playing.
Right now ive got a les paul standard, but I'm saving for an american strat.
Best of both worlds

ccstunescom - 1/4/2008 at 17:32

ccstunes.com I'm A Fender Tele Man Myself,But it just depends on what kind of music you play to what kind of guitar you need do you agree?

rockingod - 3/25/2008 at 06:45

I play a fender strat, but I want a lesPaul too. Someday I will have both. I tried an SG but did not like the sound as much, even though the SG looks cooler.

I mean does anyone else make a guitar besides fender and gibson?

hummin9bird - 3/26/2008 at 07:20

i dont think that any1 can match fenders and gibsons electric guitars but there r some rough electro acoustic rivals like taylor and martin
