k i have been breaking my high e like every week and i need to know if there are any better strings that i could use and im not gonna pay no 20 bux for a set i use electric by the way. thnx

Are you using light gauge or extra light strings...change to a heavier gauge string.

In my first few years of playing I used to break the high E a lot however I dont usually break them now however the high E is more prone to breakage.

Im not saying your a beginner guitarists because I honestly dont know however changing to a heavier gauge will help.

I don't think it's the strings. D'Addario makes some the the finest out there. There's many things that could cause you to break a string. Make sure you don't have a bur on your bridge saddle and you have properly wound the string around the tuning peg. 3-4 loops is best for all strings.

ya i use the super lights and it usually takes a weak or less to break, i had my bridge fixed so its doenst cut the string so i am gonna get heavier ones and make sure i put it on right thnx alot spider and mod.

Make sure you dont buy strings where the G string is coiled...that would be to heavy of a gauge for lead guitar.

Try the light strings and dump the super light...

yea i once tried the ones with the third string coiled and i was pissed at the way the low e sounded but u guys really helped thnx

........or you could try Bass strings you know......years go by and they never even notice....except for the dead tone. Kiddin.
If you happen to have a floating bridge, try not to pull up the notes too much; my strings (I use D'Addario too) usually break when i'm doing that.

By the way...if you HAVE to pull up your notes...for practise or anything...pay your friends (who have floating bridges) a visit and practise on their guitar. Crud i'm such a low-life
