brian - 2/11/2005 at 18:59 Anyone building there own guitar pedals?? I just finished a cool fuzz pedal
last night using a basic perf board. It's tricky but if you take your time
you can save yourself tons of money. I've modfied every pedal I own... I
guess you can call me a gear head. Tone Tone Tone
Gerix - 2/15/2005 at 20:42If I wanted to make a pedal, where would I start? Should I buy one and
tinker with it? Sounds expensive that way.
brian - 2/16/2005 at 14:30For starters I would get the book Electronic projects for musicians by
Craig Anderton. Search Google or Amazon. There's lots of projects for you
to work on in the book. You can go to Radio Shack and get most of the parts
or Small Bear Electronics, Mouser.com,Digikey.com has the hard to find
stuff. What kind of pedal would you be interested in building???
Gerix - 2/16/2005 at 20:53LOL, I don't know. I'm new to pedals too. I heard a sound that I think was
a guitar, but I don't know. It sounded like a frog croaking. It reminded
me of a wah........In other words, I'm completely clueless.
masterdan - 3/14/2005 at 01:34How much does it cost to make a pedal usually?
brian - 3/14/2005 at 14:25It depends on what your building. What gets you is the case, knobs, switches
etc.. The resistors, caps, perfboard etc are pretty cheap. I've built a few
pedals using floppy disk cases and some old radio knobs :giggly: They
looked like crap but sounded better then just about all my pedals. I like
building fuzz and distortion pedals. Sometimes though it's cheaper just to
buy a Boss,Danelectro pedal then modify to your liking. I would say to
build a basic distortion pedal it would run you anywhere from $25 to $75
depending on what your building.
brian - 3/21/2005 at 13:43pedals anyone...

Telefreak - 8/3/2005 at 23:39Brian!
Wanna build me a cheap Rat copy but with extra balls to it?
brian - 8/4/2005 at 00:42It's not that hard but first have you built any pedal before??
How's your soldering skills? Do you plan on using a perf board or make your
own board?

FireFret - 8/10/2005 at 05:01That's wild man. I never even thought of buildind a new pedal before.
Jury-rigging one into a guitar body yes but never one from scratch.
Building a guitar is one thing but a pedal? Thanx for the idea man.
Telefreak - 8/11/2005 at 00:12Cool
