6/14/2009 at 22:55Hi there.
New to the board but I'm hoping someone can still help. I'm just trying to
figure out what kind of guitar I have. I'm not a complete novice and I play
quite a bit but I'm not into the really deep stuff when it comes to the
technical side.
Anyway. I picked this up at a car boot sale a while back because I liked it
and it was a good price (no matter what it is).
So my questions are, is it a real Fender? If so, what type of telecaster?
What kind of pickups have been put on it?
Photos:
1,2,3
I can get more photos if need be.
As I said, this is more for curiositys sake. I like the guitar no matter
what it is.

6/15/2009 at 00:18Hmm, tricky one.
At first glance it looks like a Danny Gatton signature model, but it
isn't.
**** good replica though.
Looks like a parts guitar, satin finish, un stamped bridge and the serial
number in the wrong place tell me that.
it's got seymour duncan hot rails pickups by the looks of things.
Have you got a better picture of the serial number?

Nah sorry can't get a better picture this evening. Try and get my proper
camera tomorow.
It just says: Serial Number 05071696 Made in Korea
That was the first thing that nudged me towards not being genuine because
my '72 Tele Custom has an MZ serial and i've never heard of Fender having
anything in Korea.
Edit: And yeah. Hot Rails. The guy that I got it off did mention something
about that but I thought I remembered "Hot Rods" and have been searching
for them. Lol.

Looks like a nice job too
