Please detail steps to appropriately position hard tail top load bridge on a set neck telecaster (basswood). am i suppose to configure saddles mid-position over their intonation travel and position that transect 25 17/32 inch from the nut? there is no neck to body break over angle. i checked a genuine fender 1970 telecaster that is appropriately intonated and the treble E length measures 25+1/2+1/64 inch. there is a slight difference between 12th fret lengths of the two telecasters. the 1970's 12th fret length is 12+3/4 inch. the set neck is 12+3/4+1/32

If you never done this before I would a experienced luthier do it. If your off by the slightest bit your intonation will never be right.

thanks for the response.
please explain how to do this.
the local luthier said set bridge perpindicular to neck.
engage saddle throw screws 8 turns.
saddle lateral transects neck at 25 + 1/2 + 1/16.
this will encompass intonating thinnest string.
and encompass fattest too.
is this reasonable?
gage is 9-42
