8/11/2006 at 05:51i own a bbe sonic maximizer and have been looking into getting a tube
screamer. one of my good friends who when to school for audio technician
says running both at the same time would end up hurting my tubes as well as
my speakers. anyone know if theres any truth to this? thanks.
8/11/2006 at 06:11Run the tube screamer before the BBE and don't worry about it.Look at tubes
like plumbing. If you run it first you never have to worry about it.Its like
the tubes reacts to current. If you put the tube after the BBE you are
adding the current output to the tube.Making the tube run harder. If your
looking for a heavier sound thats what you want to do.They will break and
give you more distortion. If not run it first.
8/11/2006 at 06:53First off a tube screamer pedal doesn't have tubes it using a opt amp.
Ibanez tubescreamer right?
8/11/2006 at 18:11yep a tube screamer is a solid state circuit "NO Tubes" so what's the
problem?
8/23/2006 at 04:44i didnt think there was a problem. thats just what my buddy said. yeah he
must be an idiot. thanks.
8/23/2006 at 12:48not an idiot he just doesn't know
1/11/2007 at 03:37this isn't relevant to the question, but which tubescreamer? ts9 or ts808?
if you want a ts9 i could sell or trade to you maybe, i don't really use it
that much, just use od on my amp.
1/11/2007 at 04:28There's really only a couple of differences between the 2 tube screamers
Funny how so many people make a big deal about them. If you have a TS9
change 2 caps in the output buffer section and you have a TS808....Really
I have a TS10 I modded to match the TS808 specs! Easy and cheap!
1/11/2007 at 20:55i wasn't saying the 808 was better... most rockers prefer the tone of the
ts9 to be honest... more bite. and whats a ts10? there certainly isn't a
pedal with that model number on the market today... right now theres the
ts9, ts808, and ts7 (the gray one)
1/11/2007 at 21:03Your missing 2 before the ts7. That's the TS10 then the TS5 then the TS7..
now reissues of the others
