Hey!! Can anyone help me? You see, i've only just begun to play the guitar and was wondering whether anyone could tell me what the difference is between say, a Fender guitar and a guitar produced from a company not so well known?? Any reply would be soooooooo appreciated.

It depends on what make it is.
Some less well known guitars can be just as good or better than a fender, but equally, they can be a massive pile of crap.
Have you got your eye on anything in particular?

It has alot to do with the name. Fender has been around since the late 40's and they have all the great guitarist/endorsers to back em'

This is not to say another guitar of the same quality without the Fender name is not as good. You see it's the Marketing thing too......

The more expensive guitars use better body wood, neck wood, tuning machines, bridges etc.... Besides that their usually hand made rather then a cookie cutter guitar, where they just run them down the assembly line.

You can buy a cheap guitar and upgrade the hardware and have you a great guitar.

Keep in mind though the guitars wood has alot to do with it's tone so your stuck there.
