Monstrous thrash-metal guitar hero and founding member of Slayer Jeff Hanneman has died of liver failure. He was 49. Reps for the legendary guitarist said Hanneman was in a hospital near his SoCal home when his liver failed around 11 a.m. The punk-influenced thrasher was a major part of Slayer's songwriting contributing lyrics and music on each of their albums including songs "Raining Blood," "War Ensemble" and "Seasons in the Abyss.".
Guitarist Alvin Lee Dies At Age 68
Alvin Lee, guitarist with Band Ten Years After best remembered for their 1969 Woodstock performance of "I'm Going Home" died due to complications resulting from surgery. Lee's website put up a message that said, in part : "With great sadness we have to announce that Alvin unexpectedly passed away early this morning after unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure."
Toby Keith's Bass Player Chuck Goff Dies In Oklahoma Car Crash
Authorities say the bassist for country music star Toby Keith has been killed in a two-car crash in Oklahoma. The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Carl "Chuck" Goff Jr. was killed in the crash Wednesday night in rural Cleveland County, about 35 miles south of Oklahoma City.
