John Petrucci JP-2C Signature Model Amp by Mesa Boogie

The new Mesa Boogie John Petrucci JP-2C Signature Model Amp​ has a selectable 100/60-watt power output via 6L6 and 12AX7 power and preamp tubes. The Mesa JP-2C includes up three independent channels with five modes, from clean to lead and shred, via the versatile controls such as pull gain boosts and 2 x five-band graphic EQs which is a first for Mesa. New features include a CabClone cabinet simulator output with multiple voices, while a buffered valve effects loop and all-valve spring reverb are also included. Also the Mesa Boogie John Petrucci JP-2C Signature Model Amp​ is MIDI switchable/programmable. This JP-2C ​amp was released on the heals of the Mark V 25 and the Mark V 35.

Coming more than 35 years after the first Floyd Rose locking vibrato was invented, the FRX system has been designed to surface mount on all Gibson guitars with a tune-o-matic bridge, without the need to remove chunks of the body with a router. The system comprises a main bridge mechanism with intonation saddles and tremolo arm and a combined locking nut and truss adjustment cover that mounts behind the existing nut.

Texas Blues guitar legend and singer Johnny Winter died Wednesday in a hotel room in Switzerland, his representative said Thursday. He was 70. "His wife, family and bandmates are all saddened by the loss of their loved one and one of the world's finest guitarists," his spokeswoman, Lori Haynes, said.

Paco de Lucia Dies At Age 66

Paco de Lucia, who has been described as one of history's greatest guitarists, has died aged 66. The son of a flamenco guitarist he was born Francisco Sanchez Gomez in Algeciras in south east Spain. He was in Mexico where he had lived for five years in the late 1990s relaxing on the beach on holiday with members of his family when he suffered a heart attack.
